POISON hits the stores today and I couldn’t be more excited. Besides a terrific cover, this first volume in the series featuring Francesca Giordano, a professional poisoner serving the House of Borgia, has been garnering wonderful reviews. Publisher’s Weekly called it “a great first step on the way to the historical fiction A-list.” Booklist deemed it “a stunning debut” in a starred review. And Romantic Times gave it four stars and said it is “a historical mystery to savor”. Of course, I’m still chewing my nails and hoping that Francesca finds her audience. At least I know that thanks to the folks at St. Martin’s Press, she’s off to a great start.
